Election ... Repair Day

The big day is finally here!! We got up quite early in anticipation of the repair man visit. Oh, sorry, were you thinking I was referring to the election? Yeah, there was that, too.

I had an appointment with the cardiologist at 10:30 and our window of repair opportunity was 8 am til noon. This meant that HeWho loves to sleep until midmorning or noon also had to be up. I was busy making sure the kitchen was clean and nothing was in the way of the fixing of my oven. HeWho was grumbling as he held that recliner to the floor and said to me that the repairman had not called yesterday like they did before the previous visit.

I suggested that he call them and see if they could narrow that time window down. "Who do I call?" Really? He is the one who called and set up the appointment! Since they had returned his call the day he called I suggested he look on his call history. Do I have to be the brains AND the beauty?

He called only to find out they were not coming!! The parts are not there yet. Geez, they could have called and let us know. She wanted to push the repair to the 19th. I listened as HeWho was adamnent that we would not be here and that we were not okay to wait until January.

Right away, I knew he was thinking December 19, but kept my mouth shut as I realized I had not changed the clock on the stove and was running an hour in advance of my appointment. He bullied her into a Friday appointment. Not THIS Friday, but next.

I offered to let him go with me to my appointment, but he declined saying he had things to do. I figured he was going back to bed, but was surprosed to see him in the yard when I got home washing the siding on the house.

I turned the water off and we heading to our assigned polling place to get an "I Voted" sticker for me to find in the laundry permanently stuck to his shirt. It was busier than 4 years ago, but no long wait. I did not realize how many candidates were running for president! No names were recognized by me other than the two that have been blowing up my phone begging for my donation. I am so happy that will end!

My appointment was uneventful until she asked me if anyone had ever mentioned a heart murmur? No, this brand new. She determined it was not significant and scheduled an ECHO in 6 months. I wonder why my heart has begin to murmur and what it is murmuring about ..... maybe murmuring about this cursed stove?

  1. I suspect the murmur has something to do with the stress you've been under.

    1. It must be that stove! It was my Christmas present and I am tempted to tell HeWho to never buy me a gift again!!

  2. Ah the stove saga continues! What a pain! So sorry about it, and results of election. Not directly related, as I feel a lot more pain for the latter, while you probably feel more for the former!
